Swisher Co. Picnic and Tulia’s Summer Celebration

There are two festive events coming up in Tulia that you will need to add to your summer calendar.  July 17th (Saturday) will be celebrated as Swisher Co. Picnic.  Activities included will be:  parade, barbecue, rodeo, downtown square activities, and many class and family reunions.  Watch for more information on any of these happenings.  July 23rd (Friday) will be Tulia’s Summer Celebration hosted by NewsChannel 10 (KFDA).  There will be great music, food, games, Amarillo Star Competition try outs, and newscasts at 5, 6, and 10:00 pm.  Plan to be there!!

Memorial Day Service

Tulia’s Memorial Day Service honoring Veterans and Military Troops will be Monday, May 31st, starting at 10:00 am.  Rose Hill Cemetary, located south of Tulia will be the service site.  Swisher County Museum will be open afterward, refreshments will be served.

Big Bass “Mayday” Tournament

Comfort Air Solutions Ribbon Cutting

A Chamber ribbon cutting will be held April 21st at 1;30 pm in the chamber office parking lot for Tulia’s new business Comfort Air Solutions.  This business’ areas of work are air conditioning, heating, and bathroom remodels.

David Nall Concert

Home grown clean county/gospel baritone, David Nall, will be presenting a concert on April 23rd at Tulia’s Sr. Citizen’s Bldg.  A meal will be served at 6:00, concert starts at 7:00.  $10 for both meal and concert, $5 for concert only.  Everyone will be totally entertained!!

Tangles, Bangles, and Blooms

Tulia’s Chamber is very proud to introduce a new business into our community.  Tangles, Bangles, and Blooms is holding an all day Open House on April 9, 2010.  There will be a Chamber Ribbon Cutting on this same day at 1:30 pm.  They are located at 147 E. Broadway (formerly Linda’s Salon).

Comfort Air Solutions & Remodeling - New Business

Tulia’s newest business to open in our town is Comfort Air Solutions & Remodeling.  This business has recently joined the Tulia Chamber of Commerce and wants to get acquainted with our citizens.  Comfort Air is owned and operated by Ray and Monica De Los Santos.  The family previously lived in Waco and are definitely happy to be back in the Panhandle.  Monica Rodriguez De Los Santos is a Tulia native, graduated from THS in 1996 and is a new employee at Swisher Co. Head Start.  Ray was born and grew up in Amarillo, graduated from Caprock High School and has an Associate’s Degree from Texas State Technical College in air conditioning and refrigeration.

 

Comfort Air’s specialties are installing and maintaining air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration units.  Home and business remodeling is also included in the workday, with bathroom remodeling as a specialty.  Ray has 12 years of experience in these areas.

 

Ray and Monica are parents to two daughters, Adonica, who attends Swinburn Elementary and Alaina, enrolled at Head Start.
